Vaitele Soi may just be the most exciting thing that’s happened in Samoan boxing, for a very long time. With 19 proffessional fights under his belt, and 19 wins -12 of them by way of knockout – Vaitele Soi’s professional reputation makes him more newsworthy as a boxer than Sonny Bill.
Polynesian Xplorer and Event Polynesia teamed up to bring Samoa the Monty Betham Pro-Am Fight in 2007, and we clearly remember Vaitele’s exciting undercard fight in this tournament. In May 2011 you may remember Vaitele Soi appearing in the boxing news, for winning the Last Man Standing tournament, where here beat one of NZ’s best cruiserweight champions – kickboxing legend Shane “Chopper” Chapman, after defeating Mohammed Azzaoui (former WBO African champion) in the semi final.
